Quick Start Guide
Record your first consultation and generate clinical documentation in 5 minutes.
You've installed Meelio and completed onboarding — here's how to record your first consultation and generate clinical documentation.
Step 1: Start a Consultation
From the Dashboard, click the Start New Consultation button.
You can also start a consultation:
- From an upcoming appointment on your Dashboard
- From a patient's detail page
Step 2: Record the Consultation
Once the recording starts:
- Your microphone captures your voice
- System audio captures your patient's voice (for video calls)
- A live transcript appears on the right side of the screen (if using Live mode)
- Use the Notes panel to jot down observations or flag important moments
Note: Make sure your microphone is working and Meelio has the required permissions.
Step 3: Stop the Recording
When the consultation is complete:
- Click the Stop button to end the recording
- Meelio will automatically transition to the Processing view
Note: If you've enabled meeting ended detection, Meelio can automatically detect when a video call ends and prompt you to stop recording.
Step 4: Review AI-Generated Documentation
On the Processing page, Meelio's AI will:
- Transcribe the full consultation (if using Enhanced mode)
- Generate a summary of the consultation
- Be ready to create clinical notes, care plans, or meal plans
Use the chat panel to ask the AI to generate specific artifacts:
- "Generate a SOAP note for this consultation"
- "Create a care plan for this patient"
- "Build a meal plan based on our discussion"
Step 5: Link to a Patient
If you haven't already linked the consultation to a patient, you can do so from the Processing page. Click Link Patient and select or create a patient record.
Step 6: Finalize
Review the generated documentation, make any edits, and you're done. The consultation and all generated artifacts are saved to the patient's record.
