Default Templates
Set which template Meelio uses by default for each document type.
Each document type (Clinical Note, Care Plan, Meal Plan) has a default template that the AI uses when generating artifacts. You can change which template is the default.
How Defaults Work
When you ask the AI to generate an artifact (e.g., "Generate a SOAP note"), it uses the default template for that artifact type. If no default is set, Meelio uses its built-in template.
Setting a Default Template
- Go to the Templates page
- Find the template you want to set as default
- Click the template's menu (three dots)
- Select Set as Default
The template will be marked with a "Default" badge.
Changing the Default
To change the default, simply set a different template as default for that type. The previous default is automatically replaced.
Built-in Defaults
Meelio includes built-in templates for each document type. If you haven't customized defaults, these are used:
- Clinical Notes — SOAP format
- Care Plans — Comprehensive nutrition care plan
- Meal Plans — Standard meal plan with daily meals and nutritional targets
Per-Consultation Override
Even with defaults set, you can ask the AI to use a specific format in the chat:
- "Generate a DAP note instead of SOAP"
- "Use the brief care plan format"
The AI will adapt to your request for that specific generation.
