Templates
Template Types
Understand the three template types in Meelio: clinical notes, care plans, and meal plans.
Meelio supports three types of templates, each designed for a different kind of clinical document.
Clinical Note Templates
Clinical notes document what happened during a consultation. Common formats include:
- SOAP — Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan (most common)
- DAP — Data, Assessment, Plan
- PIE — Problem, Intervention, Evaluation
- BIRP — Behavior, Intervention, Response, Plan
- Narrative — Free-form clinical narrative
Clinical note templates define:
- The sections/headings to include
- What information goes in each section
- The level of detail and tone
- Any required elements (e.g., always include follow-up plan)
Care Plan Templates
Care plans outline the treatment and nutrition strategy for a patient. Templates define:
- Goal structure — How clinical and nutritional goals are presented
- Recommendation format — Dietary guidance, supplements, lifestyle changes
- Follow-up framework — Timeline and next steps
- Compliance considerations — What standards to follow
Meal Plan Templates
Meal plans provide specific dietary guidance with meals and nutritional targets. Templates define:
- Meal structure — Number of meals and snacks per day
- Nutritional detail — Whether to include macros, calories, micronutrients
- Recipe format — How detailed each meal description should be
- Portion guidance — Specific measurements vs. general guidance
- Additional notes — Shopping lists, prep tips, substitution guidance
Creating Templates for Each Type
When creating a new template, select the type first. This determines:
- What fields are available in the schema
- What AI prompt guidance is provided
- Where the template appears in the library tabs
