Edit & Manage Templates

Edit, duplicate, delete, test, and favorite templates in the Template Library.

The Template Library provides several ways to organize, manage, and test your templates.

Editing a Template

  1. Click on a template in your library to open its detail view.
  2. Modify the name, description, sections (schema), or LLM prompt.
  3. Click Save to apply your changes.

Changes take effect for the next artifact generation that uses this template.

Testing a Template with Sample Patients

You can test any template instantly to see how the AI structures your documents under real-world clinical conditions, without needing to perform a live recording:

  1. Click on any template card in your library to open its details.
  2. At the bottom-right of the template detail view, click the Test template (sparkles icon) button.
  3. Meelio will automatically bootstrap a sample patient profile and retrieve a pre-written mock consultation transcript in the background.
  4. You will be taken straight to the Chat workspace, where the AI will automatically begin generating an artifact (Clinical Note, Care Plan, or Meal Plan) using that sample transcript and your selected template's format and custom prompts.
  5. This allows you to inspect the AI's output, check the formatting, and iterate/fine-tune your template configurations in seconds.

Duplicating a Template

Duplicating creates a copy that you can modify independently:

  1. Click the template's menu (three dots) or detail footer.
  2. Select Duplicate.
  3. The copy opens for editing with "(Copy)" appended to the name.
  4. Rename and customize as needed.

Deleting a Template

  1. Click the template's menu (three dots) or detail footer.
  2. Select Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Warning: Deleted templates cannot be recovered. If you might need a template later, consider keeping it and removing it from defaults instead.

Favoriting Templates

Star templates you use frequently for quick access:

  1. Click the star icon on any template card.
  2. Starred templates appear at the top of your library list.
  3. Click the star again to remove from favorites.

Searching Templates

Use the search bar at the top of the Template Library to find templates by name or description.
