Recording & Transcription Settings
Configure audio quality, transcription mode, echo cancellation, and meeting detection.
Access these settings from Settings → Recording & Transcription (labeled "Assistant" in the sidebar).
Recording Behavior
Prevent Computer Sleep During Recordings
When enabled, your computer stays awake while recording a consultation. Enabled by default.
Auto-Generate Consultation Summaries
When enabled, Meelio automatically creates an AI-powered summary after each consultation. The summary streams to the Processing page when you stop recording. Enabled by default.
Auto-Switch to Recording View
When enabled, Meelio automatically navigates to the recording screen when a consultation starts. Enabled by default.
Transcription Mode
Choose how Meelio transcribes your consultations:
- Live Transcription — Real-time transcript during recording (default)
- Enhanced Transcription (AI) — Records audio and transcribes after you stop recording, providing higher accuracy with better speaker identification
Note: Enhanced mode provides better results but shows no live transcript during the session.

Meeting Ended Detection
Detect When Meetings End
When enabled, Meelio prompts you to stop recording after a period of silence. Enabled by default.
Silence Before Prompting
How long to wait with no speech before showing the prompt:
- 2 minutes
- 3 minutes (default)
- 5 minutes
- 10 minutes
Auto-Stop After No Response
If the prompt appears and you don't respond, recording stops automatically:
- Disabled — Prompt only, no auto-stop
- 1 minute (default)
- 2 minutes
- 5 minutes
Audio Quality
A three-point slider controls audio quality:
- Good — Uses less data, lower quality
- Recommended (default) — Balanced quality and data usage
- Best — Highest quality, uses more data
Audio Processing
Echo Cancellation
Toggle WebRTC echo cancellation on or off. Enabled by default.
Note: Disabling echo cancellation provides cleaner microphone audio for medical transcription in some setups, but may introduce echo from speakers.
